CRUCIFY

The work symbolises the difficulty that Gaia, and disabled artists in general, often experience physically accessing arts spaces to show work or take up opportunities. This includes opportunities where the organisations have specifically asked for applications from disabled artists.

Crucify was filmed at Coventry Evening Telegraph Building, Coventry City Centre, when it was being used as an artist-led exhibition and performance space, before redevelopment into a hotel.

The performance features Gaia Redgrave and Aleks Wojtulewicz and was filmed by Sam Flynn.

Crucify was runner up in the inaugural DAC art prize 2020 and was exhibited as part of the Outdoor / Indoors Exhibition at Oriel Davies, Newtown, Powys and Cynon Valley Museum, Aberdare, Rhondda Cynon Taff.
